Viburnum plicatum f. tomentosum에는 여러 재배 변종이 있고 이 꽃은 그중에서 'Lanarth'가 아니면 'Mariesii' 같다. 하지만 둘은 구분이 쉽지 않는데...

장식꽃 5장 중 한 장이 아주 작은 것이 특징이다.

'나나스'는 가지가 층을 이루지만 '마리에시'만큼 수평을 이루진 않는단다. (Branches are produced in tiered layers but not quite as horizontal as 'Mariesii'.) 가지가 거의 수평에 가까운 이것은 '마리에시' 털설구화?

단풍은 '마리에시'가 reddish-purple이며 '나나스'는 red라는데... 이게 참 그렇다.

마지막 꽃잎? 이 녀석 때문에 1년을 지켜봤다. 근데 겨울눈을 찍은 사진은 없네. 반년을 더 지켜봐야 할까보다.

Viburnum plicatum f. tomentosum 'Lanarth'
Raised as a seedling by P.D. Williams of Lanarth, Cornwall before 1930. A very fine form similar to V. plicatum f. tomentosum 'Mariesii' but somewhat larger and with larger ray (sterile) flowers. Branches are produced in tiered layers but not quite as horizontal as 'Mariesii'. Blooms late spring with showy heads of creamy-white fertile flowers surrounded by large ray florets up to 2" like a lacecap hydrangea. Fruit and fall color are red. A very beautiful selection.
